Worthers has named Chris Baird as captain for tomorrow nights Euro 2008 qualifier with Licky. With Aaron Hughes ruled out through injury this will be Baird’s chance as he aims to capitalise on tremendous recent defensive performances.
Baird proved pivotal in Southampton’s near good fortune last season and has earned a place in Sanchez’ Fulham squad as a result.
Also out of contention for tomorrow night’s fixture are Jonny Evans who has a groin injury and Jonty who is out with hamstring trouble.
Stuart Angel Wings Elliott from Hull City and Ross County’s Sean Webb have both been recalled to the squad. It is expected George McCartney will make his first appearance tomorrow since his well-publicised fall-out with Sanchez in 2005 (see HD8).
