HEALY ON FIRE
Sir David up with the best…

Norn Iron will begin Wednesday night’s match against Licky with an in-form David Healy hoping to bring his international goal tally to 30 in 60 matches.

Had it not been for a ridiculous error by the linesman at Craven Cottage last Saturday, David Healy would be sitting on three goals in three games for his club Fulham. What a start he has had.

Should Norn Iron win the game it will see them rise to second place between Sweden and Spain. Should Sir David score it will put his name in lights alongside Denis Law, Kenny Dalglish, Nat Lofthouse and Shearer.

"It is great to be mentioned in the same breath as those guys because they all achieved so much in the game," said Healy.

"I remember when I passed George Best's goal tally (9) for Northern Ireland it was a big thrill and then to beat our international goal scoring record of 13 was a brilliant feeling.

" Recently I've been on a terrific run for Northern Ireland and hopefully that will continue on Wednesday night, although the most important thing is that we get the win.

"I'm just as pleased when other players score for Northern Ireland. Hopefully a few of the boys will do just that against Liechtenstein, although we won't be taking anything for granted."
