NEWS RELEASE
NO EMBARGO – IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION – 6 SEPTEMBER 2007
HOME OR AWAY, THE 12 TH MAN WILL BE THERE
The Sea of Green has teamed up with the Belfast Telegraph to help turn the tide in Latvia this Saturday. 2000 fans will make the journey to Riga to cheer Northern Ireland on and to help show the players on the pitch that the fans are 100% behind them.
A Sea of Green spokesman, Keith Brown, said: “In a small stadium we know how effective the support of the fans can be to aid the players on the pitch. 2000 fans travelling to Latvia is a superb effort and the Sea of Green and Belfast Telegraph want to enhance the atmosphere”.
Fans will be greeted at the away entrance to the ground by Belfast Telegraph and Sea of Green staff distributing 500 green wigs, 500 green hats and 1000 packs of green and white face paints.
Thanks go to the Amalgamation of Official Northern Ireland Supporters Clubs, the IFA, the PSNI and the British Vice Consul in Riga for helping to organise this.
- NOTES TO EDITORS:
