He’s Tall, He’s Thin… He’s Craig Cathcart
Glengormley Youngster in Man U Champions League Squad

18-year old Craig Cathcart could make his dream debut for Manchester United in tonight’s Champions League quarterfinal second leg with AS Roma at OT. Cathcart, as featured in Tomorrow’s Men in HD7, is the latest to be sent across the water from Man U feeder club Greenisland following Jonny and Corey Evans. Man U picked up the Glengormley kid following his performance in the 2005 Victory Shield. He was ever present since then in the international U-18s but at only 17 made his debut for Norn Iron’s U-21s against Germany. Recently Cathcart was an unused sub in Man U’s 1-0 victory over ‘Boro in an FA quarter final at OT last month. “The reserve team manager Brian McClair phoned me to tell me I was in the squad and I was shocked, but delighted. If I get on the pitch I will try and play my normal game but I would expect to be very nervous. We are meeting at Old Trafford at 11.30am before leaving for a hotel where the preparations will continue. I was meant to go to Rome but Louis Saha and Darren Fletcher travelled and I never made it but this will be a wonderful experience for me, even if I don’t play. I enjoyed being involved for the first team for the Middlesbrough game and you are treated like all the players are. There is enough class and quality in our team to win this game – we have no reason to fear anyone.”
