Neil Lennon has gone AWOL from Forest mounting increasing concerns for his sate of mind.
The former Norn Iron skipper has admitted to having clinical depression for some time. A source at Forest has vehemently denied reports that playing for the club causes depression and associated mental health difficulties.
"We vehemently deny reports that playing for Forest causes depression and associated mental health difficulties," said our source.
It is believed that Lennon is missing his Glasgow-based girlfriend Irene McCloy (32) and his wee fella Gallagher, who will be two years old next month.
Lennon joined Forest on a one-year contract in the summer. It is not known whether he's gone for good.
"Neil was given some time away from the club to resolve personal issues, which is why he was not part of the squad on Tuesday night," said his agent Martin Reilly.
"The main factor is simply that while Neil lives in Nottingham, his girlfriend and young child are still up in Glasgow."
He added: "Neil remains fully committed to the club.
"He has certainly not left Forest, but I am not certain whether he will be playing for them on Saturday."
No stranger to controversy, rumours that Lennon had recently been listening to his old Smiths albums have been strenuously shunned by a source at club.
"We strenuously shun any rumours that Neil Lennon had recently been listening to his old Smiths albums," she said.
