Jonny Evans has been sensationally left out of the Northern Ireland squad hoping to beat both Denmark and Spain this month.
Instead, Evans will play at U-21 level against Luxembourg and Moldova, which must be a real pisser. Evans missed the game in Sweden through injury after he had appeared against both Latvia and Iceland in September. However, he had purchased new shorts and a bodyboard in rightful anticipation of a trip to the Canaries.
It is the first time since Evans debut against Spain in September last year that he has been left out of a senior international squad when fit. He will now have to settle for a sunbed in Stockport.
The squad has been chosen that will play Denmark on Saturday November 17th at Windsor Park before taking on Spain on Wednesday November 21 at Estadio de Gran Canaria.
Scunthorpe United forward, cited as the 'next David Healy', Martin Paterson has been included in the squad, while Wazza and Chris Baird are back after missing the draw away to Sweden due to suspension.
