We have our Jonny for protection
Jonny come lately...

Good 'evans, no sooner had he been told go Jonny go and now's he's been told to come back.

Injury to Biggles has seen Evans recalled by Worthy for both Denmark and Spanadia. Only yesterday, Evans was preparing to play for the U-21 squad in Luxembourg, but now finds himself back with the big fellas.

Talking new kids and blocks, young Martin Paterson could find himself as the new James Quinn. For starters he's from Stoke, which isn't that far away from Coventry, he's English (hence the Stoke connection btw), he's tall, moderately thin and is a striker. The clear difference is that Paterson his hammering them in for his club Scunthorpe - the only club in the English League to officially have a cu*t in it.

Paterson's grandmore is from Co Londonderry hence the connection.

"I used to come over to Northern Ireland quite a lot when I was a kid to see my grandparents but I can't say I remember a great deal about the place," Paterson told Mark McIntosh at The Belfast Telegraph.

" I have never been to Windsor Park but I'm really looking forward to seeing it and I've heard a lot about the atmosphere.

"A year ago I was trying to break into the Stoke City team so to say I'm surprised at a call-up to the international side this quick would be an understatement.

"I was on loan at Grimsby when Ciaran Toner called Roy Millar to tell him I qualified for Northern Ireland and things have gone from there.

" It really is an honour and although I don't know many of the lads, I think I'll fit in without too many problems.__
"Hopefully I will be able to cement my place in the squad but I have never been the sort of person to come in just to make up the numbers.

"I'm not foolish enough to think I can just walk into the team but I do want to support the rest of the lads, bide my time then hopefully do enough to impress the manager.

"The two games against Denmark on Saturday and Spain next week are massive for Northern Ireland and we know what we have to do to qualify for the European Championships.

"If I get a chance, I'm sure I can play my part in getting the results we're all hoping for."
