The Northern Ireland friendly this weekend in Pisa is under threat from local Ultras, following their relegation to the third tier at the weekend.

The Tuscan fans are angry following relegation to Lega Pro Prima Divisione and have stated that they do not want the Nazionale to play in their stadium.

The Curva Nord Ultras have released a statement protesting against the forthcoming international game.

"We don't want to host the Lega Calcio Gala in our stadium. We don't want the Nazionale, " reads the note.

But the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has said the game will go ahead as planned and there will be no stadium swap.

"We understand the disappointment of the fans, but we hope that Italy can represent a moment of joy that will reflect Pisa's great sporting tradition, " said at FIGC spokesperson.

Meanwhile Grant McCann will join the NI squad after being given special dispensation to finish his UEFA A License course at a later date. The course was meant to finish this Friday which would have given McCann no chance of joining the senior squad in Italy. Craig Cathcart will however miss his senior debut following a knee injury sustained on the last day of the season with Plymouth.
